England has 12 National Trails which are very different in character and can present quite different challenges.  They range from rural rambles to major expeditions taking in the very best scenery and history that England can offer.  Two new paths will be added in 2026.  The King Charles III England Coast Path and the Coast to Coast Path National Trail. That will make a total of 14 glorious National Trails and 6,000 miles of walking.

This section lists all of these paths and ways, describing my experience and approach.
