Almost as a finale, I completed the Scottish National Trails in 2016. Originally planned as one continuous trip, but leaving the Speyside Way a week so I could attend family commitments.
These trails only scratch the potential of Scotland as a walking destination, where effort and adventure is amply rewarded with some of the most spectacular scenery in the British Isles, if not the world.
The Scotland Way, from Kirk Yetholm (end of the Pennine Way) to Cape Wrath beacons.
